You should also know that the Columbia Association will arrange for additional Swim Lesson Instructor training if you are hired. Junior Counselor

Department: Camps

Must be at least 16 years of age. Under the supervision of the Head Counselor or Director, the Jr. Counselor’s basic responsibility is to maintain supplies, equipment, and the facilities as directed by the Director. Participation in some camp activities is required. Junior Counselors needed for Nature Camp, Basketball Camp, Intro to Sports Camp, Sports & More Camp, and Art Camp. Must be able to work for 8 weeks and attend pre-camp training.

Camp Counselor

Department: Camps

Under the supervision of the Head Counselor or Director, the counselor’s basic responsibility is the well being of each camper in his/her group. The counselor works in close relationship with the campers, giving guidance in the various aspects of the camping program. The counselor utilizes program activities to provide adventure and enjoyment, develop new skills and interests, and satisfy a need for achievement and recognition in each camper. Must be 18 or a high school graduate. Must be able to work for 8 weeks and attend pre-camp training.

Assistant Director

Department: Camps

Under supervision of the Camp Director the Assistant Director’s basic responsibilities are twofold. First the Assistant Director is responsible for the welfare of day campers enrolled in camp. Second, the Assistant Director is responsible for the planning and implementation of camp activities including the supervision of counselors.Must be at least 21 years of age and have at least two seasons of administrative or supervisory experience in day camps, or other youth recreation programs. Must be able to work entire duration of camp season.

Sailing Instructor

Under the supervision of the Camp Manager or Camp Director, the sailing instructor’s basic responsibility is the well being of each camper in his/her group. The sailing instructor works in close relationship with the campers, giving guidance in the various aspects of the camping program and teaching them basic sailing fundamentals. The sailing instructor utilizes program activities to provide adventure and enjoyment, develop new skills and interests, and satisfy a need for achievement and recognition in each camper.Must be able to work for 8 weeks and attend pre-camp training.
