Skateboarding Instructor

Columbia SkatePark, Sport and Fitness, Seasonal. Columbia SkatePark is currently hiring skateboard instructors for summer skate camps, private lessons and group lessons. Camps run from late June to the end of August, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Group lessons are on Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon. SportsPark Attendant
Department: SportsPark Administration
Responsibilities include monitoring the batting cages, mini-golf and skate park; cleaning the park areas and equipment; enforcing SportsPark and SkatePark rules; running birthday parties; selling food, beverages, admission passes and tokens to any of the SportsPark areas. Pay range starts from $7.25 per hour. Applicants must be 16 years old and able to acquire a valid work permit. Applicant must be available some Saturdays in February and March for training. New Swim Lesson Instructor

Lesson Coordinator

Under the direction of the Lesson Supervisor, the Lesson Coordinator shall organize and direct the activities associated with operation of the Columbia Association outdoor pool swimming lesson program at their assigned pool cluster. The Lesson Coordinator will develop and initiate a lesson plan for the variety of swimming lessons that the Association offers. Work with the Outdoor Pool's management to create an effective range of lesson options that will appeal to the widest consumer base that is possible. Plan, organize, schedule using CA computer system(CSS),and track a program that will train all of the Lesson Instructors in the proper methods needed to successfully teach children and adults swimming lessons. Maintain an efficient in-service program that is designed to keep the instructors up-to-speed on changes and new initiatives, track the lesson program, prepare all payments for the instructors in a timely basis which coincides with the payroll process, and evaluate each instructor's performance against pre-set criteria and effectiveness at the end of the pool season. The Lesson Coordinator candidate must have a minimum of one year experience in aquatics industry, a positive service-oriented attitude, and be comfortable using computers. CNSL Head Swim Coach

Under the direction of the CNSL Supervisor, the CNSL Head Coach shall organize and direct the activities associated with operation of the Columbia Association Neighborhood Swim League program. The Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL) is primarily an instructional swim league contained within the structure of the Columbia Association outdoor pools. The league provides a format in which each swimmer can test his or her performance in actual competition as a part of a team in an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship. CNSL is not a U.S. Swimming program and therefore does not try to offer an advanced level of training. It is the coach's job to teach the sport of swimming and to provide an opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of their ability, to have fun and enjoy the sport. The league allows for neighborhood focus for fun! Coaching responsibilities include fostering a sense of TEAM within the CNSL, your staff and the community of your neighborhood, leading by example with good sportsmanship, conducting practices according to the practice schedule set forth by the Swim League, attending all practices and all swim meets unless excused by the Swim League Supervisors, and preparing all line-ups for weekly competition. CNSL Assistant Swim Coach

Returning Swim Lesson Instructor

Indoor Lifeguard - FEMALE

To Start IMMEDIATELY - 12:30 p.m. - 9:30 pm. and/or 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. shifts. The Columbia Association has an opening for a FEMALE Lifeguard. The candidate must be 15 years old, mature in judgment, friendly, and able to pass a water screening which tests swimming ability. You should also know that the Columbia Association will arrange for your lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid training if you are hired. In addtion to lifeguard duties, will be required to check the Ladies Locker Room on a regular basis. The water screening consists of the following:
200-yard swim without resting
2-minutes treading water while holding both hands out of the water
Retrieve a 10 pound diving brick from a minimum depth of 8 feet of water or the deepest part of the pool(up to 12feet), and bring it to the surface.
